A Noshi is a Japanese Family Crest as well as a decoration for packages. Originally made of dried sea urchins they are now made of decorative papers.
This small decorative wall hanging pattern is a great beginner's project. This patterns simple flowing shapes are easily manageable for the novice applique artist. The more advance applique artist may wish to experiment with more advanced quilting techniques like trapunto.
