Collection: HQ - Highview QuiltWorks - Lois Hatleberg

Lois Hatleberg learned to sew when she was 10 years old and enjoyed making clothing for herself. She learned many other forms of needlework: knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, and weaving. Lois started quilting in 1970 as a way to use up all the fabrics left from other sewing projects. At that time, there weren't many books or patterns available, so she learned by trial and error. She enjoys a variety of types and styles of quilts but is mainly a traditional quilter. Working with fabrics and colors is the fun part. Lately Lois has been combining her knowledge of weaving with traditional quilt piecing to design patterns that have been inspired by other types of textiles. The interaction of the colors and the spaces is interesting to her and the variety of design elements is a fun challenge.
