New Fabric Collections and Classic Patterns

New Fabric Collections and Classic Patterns

One of the projects that I am working on this week (and probably next week!) is updating the Designer pages on the QuiltWoman.com website. Each of our designers have their own page which can be accessed by the drop-down menu on the left-hand side of our website. The designer pages have an "About" section that gives you a brief background of our designer, whether or not they are a teacher, links to websites, facebook pages, blogs, etc. The pages also have all of their patterns listed. Which means.......I have been browsing through more of our classic patterns!

This week I also opened up an email from Andover Fabrics. They were highlighting some of their new fabric collections that are coming out soon. Of course I had to look! And look! And look! I admit I got a little sidetracked on their website.

So between my project and the email from Andover Fabrics I found two patterns and a couple of fabric lines that I wanted to experiment with.

Here are the results:

Prairie View (AW-015)

This pattern is designed by Anne Wiens of Sweetgrass Creative Designs.

The image to the left is the original sample quilt.

The center is a fabric panel.. but could also be used to highlight a large print fabric. The pattern gives directions to make 3 sizes of quilts.

Finished Sizes:
Crib: 44" x 56"
Lap: 55" x 70"
Twin: 66" x 84"

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Technique: Pieced

.......and here is my recolor for Prairie View

Fabric Line: Sunflowers and Honey by Kim Schaefer for Andover Fabrics (Available February 2022)

I love this collection. Bright and Cheery!

The panel in the Sunflowers and Honey collection fits nicely in the twin size quilt of the Prairie View pattern.

You can purchase the Prairie View Pattern by clicking this link.

Here is the second pattern I chose to recolor.

Crazy Daisy (BL2-126)

This pattern is designed by Bea Lee of Beaquilter.

The image on the left is the original sample quilt. I do love the yellows and grays in this quilt but wanted to play around with some other ideas and fabrics.

Put together 8 stunning fabrics with a solid and this quilt will look awesome.

Finished Size: 64" x 84"

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Technique: Pieced

First I tried Splash of Color by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabrics. This fabric collection is going to be available in November 2021.

I picked all blues but the collection has some beautiful bright colors as well- watermelon, cherry, orchid, berries, teals, oranges, violets...etc... which would look stunning in this quilt as well.

Hope you have enjoyed these quilt pattern recolors. Which is your favorite?

Happy Quilting!
